Adventures in El Dorado Hills! BBQ & Grandma + Grandpa Morrison's today and we collected Manzanita branches for our wedding while we were there. A little warmer than we'd like, a little stickier than we thought, but good food, family, and fun - why not?! 

Suprise!

Steven's surprise party was a HUGE success! Thank you to everyone who made it out and those who didn't we still love you anyway! Steven was genuinely surprised and had a great time! Hope everyone else did too!

The boys played pool, ate peppers, fished, and made dinner while us girls went bridesmaid dress shopping! One dress down & 4 more to go!

Thank God one of us can cook! Steven made DELICIOUS homemade fish & chips & tartar sauce!

Invitations are on their way!

                 

Today we sent out 82 invitations. Some are left to be hand delivered. Some just need stamps.

80 more days & one step closer!

Stamps are now 44 cents.

100 invitations. Ready to be sent out. AND more may need to be made?!

When did we meet all these people?!

IKEA makes me want to have nine different houses to decorate differently. BUT until we win the lottery……

Steven and I made a whole factory line set up to stamp the envelopes, get the envelopes addressed, get the RSVPs & invitations into the envelopes, yadda yadda yadda. After about a good four hours calling, texting, and facebooking to make sure we had all the correct addresses of our friends and family, we have a huge stack of pretty invitations to take to the post office.

Excitement and stress set in simultaneously about the twentieth invitation in. People are going to come to this thing. The law is involved in this thing. Insurance is involved in this thing. HOLY begees! It’s only two months and a few days away!

Next step. Bridesmaid dresses? Getting Steven into a Tux shop? Figuring out a plan to tricking someone into throwing me a bridal shower? Decisions, decisions.

Blogging? .....Maybe!

We've got a wedding website, we've got our registries, why not blog about everything else along the way? 

When it comes to planning a wedding, we have no idea what we are doing. Scratch that - I, Kristen, have no idea what I'm doing. When I was helping with Steven's little sister's wedding it seemed so much easier (minus a few hang ups). I guess because this is actually about me (and Steven, of course!) this time, details seem so much more important.

However, with 81 days left to go, I feel like we've got a pretty good handle on this.

Ceremony & Reception location: check.

Officiant: Check.

Wedding dress: Check.

DJ: Check.

Caterer: Check.

Cake: Check.

Photographer: Check.

Bridesmaid dresses: No check. NOT looking forward to attempting this either. 

Groomsmen gear: No check. Eh, they're boys. They'll go for anything. Right?

Centerpieces: working on it. So far, so good.

Invitations: Check.

Honeymoon: No check. Should have booked a month ago when prices were half what they are now.

Excitement: kind of, sort of, not really checked yet.

We're in the poor house. This is not where I feel we should be but we are stuck here and there's no sign of exit. Maybe when there is more of a light at the end of the tunnel (and please God - I beg you, I plead, I am on my knees! PLEASE let it be SOON!) excitement level will go up and stress will go down.

Until then, here is the blog. The blog of being in love with my best friend and getting ready to get married. The blog of a bad economy and the lack of jobs for college graduates with no experience in said degree. The blog about planning a wedding and bridesmaid that are too far away to keep the bride sane.
